Hello friends! Welcome to Raising Teens… for REAL!
My name is Nancy ~ I’m a busy working mom with three “always on the go” teenagers, Brianna (19), Madison (18) and David (16) – yeah, you could say we racked ’em and stacked ’em, but hey, it’s my way of keeping the chaos compact! I’m married to my sweetheart of 22 years, Paul, and we’re the proud owners of two cats, Pooh Bear (who really thinks he’s a dog) and Pixie.
A little about me…By day, I run my own public relations firm where I enjoy working with a variety of clients in varying business sectors. As a writer for more than 20 years, I’m an energetic, passionate thinker who’s always brainstorming about the next topic I want to write about. I oftentimes find myself daydreaming about quitting my day job to write about what I love… my kids, my marriage, life lessons, recipes, and so much more. But, with bills out the ying yang (I’m not sure exactly what that means, but it doesn’t sound good), and a small mountain of college debt to deal with, let’s just say, that won’t be happening any time soon. So, for now, I’m going to juggle what I have to do with what I love to do. Honestly, isn’t that what we all do every day?
Raising Teens… for REAL was inspired by countless conversations with parents of teenagers looking for a place to share, vent, chat, learn and yup, maybe even brag a little, in an environment where you won’t be judged and there isn’t any competition to be the best, the smartest, the best looking, the most athletic or the most popular. This, my friends, is home. A comfortable place for us all to dive into the “real” side of raising teens… real conversation, real insight, real solutions, real tidbits to make your life a little easier and, let’s not forget, real funny stories about raising imperfect (but, totally awesome) teens.
I invite you to join me on my journey. Grab a Starbucks, a cup of tea, a Coke, a Mountain Dew to keep you awake or maybe a Margarita or Sangria (my personal favorite) and let’s chat for a while! Oh and hey… if there’s a topic you’d like me to write about or a conversation you’d like to start, contact me and let me know! In the meantime, thank you for allowing me to share some of my stories, insight and tidbits to make your life a little less stressful and hopefully brighten your day!
